STORY
MARENA is more than a sports facility; it’s a space built to move you. Designed as a living system of energy and rhythm, every wall, floor, and surface inside the complex inspires motion. Through colour, typography, and direction, the space speaks, urging you to rise higher, breathe deeper, and keep going. The MARENA Experience transforms routine training into a visual journey of motivation, turning every step into a moment of play and purpose.
OPPORTUNITY
The MARENA complex was already a world-class indoor sports facility, but it lacked a distinct identity that matched its scale and spirit. With multiple levels, courts, studios, and social zones, the space functioned well but didn’t feel unified.
The opportunity lay in designing a visual system that could energise athletes, simplify navigation, and create a shared sense of motivation across every floor. Our goal was to move not just physical, but emotional, where the environment itself becomes a silent coach.
Previous Design Language
DESIGN
The design approach for MARENA translates the rhythm of sport into a spatial language. Drawing from the concept “Inspire Play,” every surface was treated as an active participant in the experience. Lines, colour, and typography were used not just as decoration, but as motion cues for guiding flow, marking progress, and amplifying emotion.
The facades came alive with dynamic patterns and super-type messages, while interiors used motivational language to transform corridors, staircases, and studios into zones of energy. The system connects identity, wayfinding, and atmosphere into one unified expression of movement.
IDENTITY
The new MARENA logo brings balance, clarity, and motion to the brand. Simplified from the older dual-tone mark, it’s geometric and confident, built to move seamlessly across facades, installations, and digital spaces.
An isometric grid was applied to aid the concept of the mark.
ROUTE: INSPIRE PLAY
The moodboard captures a study of motion, energy, and rhythm. Vibrant colour trails and dynamic forms capture the spirit of sport movement frozen in time, full of intensity and flow.
Electric colours, glowing with intensity. Adding a burst of energy and vibrance to our spaces. To be used along with metallic / mirror film on a neutral colour wall base.

EXTERIOR
The exterior of MARENA embodies energy and motion even before you step inside. The bold facade, marked by dynamic lines and sleek geometry, captures the illusion of speed and movement, an invitation to play, train, and perform. The large-scale athlete graphics and illuminated signage inspire you to rise higher and stay active. Every architectural element reinforces MARENA’s philosophy: to motivate, energize, and celebrate the spirit of sport in every individual.

CAFE CRUNCH
Café Crunch brings a lighter, more playful side to the MARENA experience. The identity uses bold type, witty wordplay, and bright colour accents to create a space that feels energetic yet relaxed. Designed as a social pause point between training and campus life, the café extends the visual language of movement into a youthful, inviting atmosphere where students recharge, connect, and reset.
IDENTITY
Café Crunch was designed as the fun, expressive corner of the MARENA experience. The identity leans into a bold, high-energy aesthetic with exaggerated lettering, vivid colour contrasts, and a graphic style that feels youthful and unfiltered.
It mirrors the spontaneity of sport and the social vibe of campus life. The logo’s punchy palette and chunky forms make the café instantly recognisable and help it stand out as a lively pause point within the larger sports complex.

The interior graphics extend the MARENA energy into every activity zone. Each space uses bold typography, directional lines, and sport-specific messages to motivate users and enhance the atmosphere. From the gym to the courts and multipurpose studios, the visuals create rhythm, focus, and momentum, turning movement through the facility into a continuous experience of motivation.

COMMON AREA
Common areas at MARENA were designed to carry the visual language across transitions. Directories, corridor graphics, floor cues, and selfie spots create a sense of continuity as users move between activities. These spaces use clear wayfinding, energetic colour accents, and motivational messages to keep the experience intuitive and engaging, turning everyday circulation into part of the overall journey.
